Seoul Changpo Park
Seoul Changpo Park is a public ecological garden open to everyone, known for its stunning collection of irises and specialized plant zones. Designated as both a themed botanical garden and ecological reserve, it spans roughly 16,000 pyeong (about 53,000 square meters) and is divided into 12 themed areas—including the Iris Garden, Medicinal Plant Garden, and Wetland Zone. The Iris Garden features around 300,000 individual plants across 130+ varieties, including yellow flag iris, Japanese iris, iris lactea, and blackberry lily—each displaying the distinctive brush-shaped blooms the garden is named after. In the Medicinal Plant Garden, visitors can see nearly all of Korea’s native medicinal herbs in one place. The Wetland Zone includes a wooden observation deck, offering a chance to observe aquatic plants and wetland wildlife up close. Throughout the year, the Flower Garden changes with the seasons, showcasing lilies, tulips, and other vibrant blooms depending on the time of your visit.
